The Investigation Of Course Construction Of Public Football Elective Course In Jiangxi Universities

Football elective course is one of the public PE foundation courses and it is anecessary part of higher education. This paper is with “quality education” as the core,“health first” as the guiding ideology and combines the modern education theory“people oriented” to make a detailed investigation and analysis of Jiangxi sixuniversities’ public football elective course’s course construction by using literaturestudy, questionnaire investigation, expert interview, mathematical statistics andlogical analysis. It tries to find out the advantages and disadvantages of ourprovince’s football elective course’s course construction mainly through the analysisof course offering, course system, teaching methods and means, teachers, teachingevaluation, venue’s facilities, equipments and teaching material. This paper givessome solutions according to the requirement of Chinese university course reform andconstruction in order to popularize football game better, strengthen students’ bodiesand cultivate their will. At the same time, it can provide some references to otheruniversities in the construction of football elective course.Through the investigation, we can come to the following conclusions.First, football elective course offered by universities are favored by studentswho like football games. It lays a good foundation for the development of schoolfootball games and the improvement of school football level.Second, the phenomenon that the syllabus and teaching plan haven’t beenrevised for many years exists in universities which have offered football electivecourse.Third, many teachers don’t obey P.E. teaching rules in football elective courseand their organization ability should be improved.Fourth, teachers should strengthen their organization teaching ability andchange the phenomenon of single teaching method, not rich teaching contents, toomany football competitions in the course and inability of using multimedia to aid thefootball skills and theory teaching.Fifth, most schools final exam can combine the reality which have improvedstudents’ activeness in independence and cooperative practice. Sixth, the general teaching level of football elective course teachers is high.They have good skills and are responsible. Though they are young, their titlestructure is reasonable and degree level is high.Seventh, schools have done a relatively good job in equipment update andmaintenance, but some schools don’t have professional field maintenance workersand some schools have few football field.The thesis puts forward some suggestions for the problems in the investigation.It can give reference for university P.E. teaching administration department whenperforming teaching reform and football elective course construction.First, strengthen football elective course construction, set up the guidingideology of “people oriented and health first”, develop students’ interest and hobbiesand help students build the awareness of lifelong sports.Second, strengthen P.E. teaching plan management. The schools which haven’trevised the football elective course syllabus and teaching plan for years should adjustand revise them quickly.Third, strengthen football elective course routine administration and perfect theteaching system.Fourth, strengthen football elective course reform. The multi-level teachingmethod can be adopted to improve teachers’ football skills, theory teaching andability of using multimedia to aid teaching. Schools should provide conditions formultimedia teaching.Fifth, strengthen students’ self-protection awareness and sport injury education.Sixth, strengthen teacher construction. Lead and encourage young footballteachers to do researches. If conditions allowed, schools can make their own footballelective course books.Seventh, strengthen football field construction. Make more five-people footballfield to meet the need of football elective course teaching and studentsextracurricular activities. Improve football field equipment’s construction andmanagement and allocate professional workers to make maintenance for the fieldequipment.
