The Study Of Cultural Development And Loss In The Process Of She’s Chinesization

For ethnic minorities," Chinesization" is an vital issue in the process of evolution. How the ethnic minorities to adapt to the profound changes in culture, how to coordinate the contradictions between its own culture and Han culture and how to keep traditional culture and move into modernization become important tasks for each ethnic minority. The study through the analysis of Chinesization process of She ethnic explains that there are two different practices:cultural development and cultural loss. Cultural development is mainly manifested in the way of living, the clan society, education, etc. Cultural loss mainly reflects in clan culture, traditional customs, folk art, the witchcraft culture, etc. The three villages chosen for my investigation are located in the east of Fujian, locally pronounced rixi, houdun and xita. In this paper, comparative study can be seen through historical documents and the fieldwork data. In addition, the substance of Chinesization will be discussed on the basic of he fieldwork data. In the end of this paper, the discussion mostly focuses on effective approaches for the She’s development in the view of cultural consciousness.
