Abstract/Summary:
In the21st century, along with the education informationization, multimedia has gradually become an important tool of geographical teaching in middle school and high school. And, the new curriculum concept of geographical education advocates studying useful geography for life, the useful geography of lifelong development, construct geography based on modern information technology course, to create a comfortable environment for the development of students’independent learning awareness and ability. So, majority of geographic educators are aware of the importance that cultivates students’ability of practice and innovation spirit because of the new curriculum. In the current educational environment of middle and high school, it has the certain application value to explore a new kind of auxiliary tool for geographical teaching-How to apply an iPad to assist geographical teaching in middle schools and high schools.First of all, this article makes a overview to the situation of iPad’s teaching application at home and abroad. Abroad, all kinds of school from primary to university are making experiments to take the iPad into the classroom, the study shows that the iPad with its powerful interactive function, can enhance the students’cooperative learning awareness and consciousness to share achievements. Also, Domestic some primary and middle schools are introducing the iPad into the classroom, for example, the research about the Xishan campuse of high school affiliated to Renmin University of China shows that Apple’s products can stimulate students’creativity, significantly enhance student achievement, at the same time, the student’s ability to think independently and self-learning ability have been strengthened, too. Secondly, it makes an exposition about how to use an iPad to design the syllabus/classroom management/storage management. Moreover, the article analyses the assistant software of geography teaching in the apple store and, including Solar walk, Google map, map softwares, etc, and it explains in detail how to used an iPad in the geography classroom teaching, and put forward amendments aiming at these softwares, make them more helpful to carry out the geography teaching content, additional, give an example of how to use an iPad to design teaching; Finally, the paper analyzed many ebooks in the iPad related to geography,it is conducive to extend the knowledge of teachers and students, to improve their humanities cultivated manners.In this paper, it analyses the geography teaching softwares and ebooks in the iPad combining instances, and provides the theoretical reference and reference for the school geography classroom practice research of the iPad in future.
