The Study On Women’s Family Status

With the development of economy and society, the status of women has been an unprecedented improved. However, compared with men, women still disadvantaged groupsof society, the phenomenon like occupational segregation, unequal pay for equal work are widespread in the world. The home is an important area of people’s lives and leisure, family status of women is also an important dimension to measure the status of women in society. With family ethics development and people’s attitudes change, the family status of women has also been improved to varying degrees, but in order to understand objectively and specifically the status of women in the family today, and in order to find the existing problems, we need to do further research and discussion.In this paper, the position of women in marriage and family in Hubei province is described and analyzed, using the method of sociological theory and empirical research, and basing on primary data Hubei province in the third phase of the investigation on the status of Chinese women. This paper can be mainly divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, which has introduced the research background, literature comb, research purpose and significance, and the illustration of the research design for this article. In the second part, the objective description and analysis of the level and status of marriage and family status of women in Hubei province has been made using the method of the empirical research and descriptive statistics. The position of women in marriage and family operation has been divided into three dimensions that including the rights, powers and responsibilities in the family, and eight more specific indicators including personal rights, family property inheritance, family property, family affairs decision-making power, individual decision-making power, sex life power and sharing of housework and the support for the family economy has been subdivided basing on this three dimensions. The third part is a summary and discussion, which has asked questions and continued to make further analysis and summary using the sociological theory. On the basis of above analysis, suggestions to improve women’s marriage and family status has been put forward, hoping to be helpful to enhance the status of women in marriage and family. In the fourth part, the article points out the deficiencies and limitations in order to better follow-up studies.
