Higher vocational colleges is an important part of colleges anduniversities. The number of students has occupied60%of the number ofstudents in colleges and universities, is becoming more and more become animportant social groups. With the rapid development of higher vocationaleducation, various problems emerging, heavy light humanities educationvocational education is one of the important issues. Wulanchabu vocationalcollege is a vocational school in Inner Mongolia, by investigating theuniversity students’ knowledge of history condition, to the health of thestudents humanistic quality, is to know the students’ humanistic education inhigher vocational colleges in Inner Mongolia status of a case. Wulanchabuhistorical knowledge in vocational college students by questionnaire surveyand interviews, found that students basic knowledge of the history of theextremely poor, about Chinese history and world history knowledge of historyquestionnaire averages only31points, such as many dissenting ConfucianHanWu, nanjing treaty and so on basic knowledge of history, more than halfof the students don’t know at all. Higher vocational students’ knowledge ofhistory is so weak reasons mainly include the following: first, the weakness ofhigher vocational students cultural basis; Second, the higher vocationalcolleges in history; Third, higher vocational high school students in history;Fourth, individuals, schools and parents do not take the history, think historyis interesting and useless. Wulanchabu vocational college students’ knowledgeof history according to the existing problems, and should adopt the followingcountermeasures, first of all, the media should actively promote theimportance of history education, called on all social levels attach greatimportance to history education; Second, regardless of arts secondary school,all courses in history; Third, higher vocational colleges must be at least"Chinese near modern history outline" courses or one semester of generalcourses "history"; Fourth, cracking of higher vocational students’misunderstanding, to make students realize the person’s quality which includes professional ability, vocational ability), also include the humanitiesaccomplishment, both be short of one cannot, thus forming a historicalknowledge of students’ autonomous learning atmosphere.
