Education is one of the most important programs of a country and nation. Education development is inseparable from the work of teachers because teachers guide students’ well-being; teachers are the creators of the students’well-being education. The well-being of teachers is not only closely related to the work of the teachers, but also affects the stability of the physical and mental health of teachers. Therefore, in the tide of the current reform of basic education, many people and institutes concerned about the education of the students’happiness, but also strive to build the happiness and job satisfaction of teachers.Happiness means a person’s psychological feeling or state. Career happiness or job satisfaction means that you must keep balance between your career or job and quality of life. Teachers’ job satisfaction means that "teachers can freely realize their career aspirations in their own teaching life as an educational subject."(Wang Xueqin,2011:15)New teachers form a special group, and every year there will be a large number of new teachers each school recruits. Their job satisfaction directly affects students, schools, and the development of education. Therefore, the concern of new teachers’ job satisfaction becomes the major research topic of my thesis. I select four newly recruited female English teachers as a case study, because most of the English teachers are female teachers, and they constitute a special group of new teachers. The researcher could collect more details about their in-depth feelings and emotions about their teaching life because the researcher and the interviewees are also friends. In this study, instead of using traditional research methods for intuitive data by distributing a large number of questionnaires, the author use narrative teaching stories to present the status of four new female English teachers’ teaching life on the purpose of studying teachers’ job satisfaction from a more human view. The subject of this study is divided into the following sections:domestic and international research and analysis on teacher job satisfaction, the basic theoretical framework for teachers’ job satisfaction, the narration and analysis of four new teachers’teaching life. Through this study, the researcher finds that the main factors that affect new female teachers’job satisfaction includes salary and welfare (there are some difference between the experienced teachers and the new teachers and new teachers salary is too low before they are recruited in a formal way after one year of teaching.); personal emotion and marriage problems, especially for new female teachers(many female teachers become "left-behind" women because it’s difficult for them to find a person to get marry; some teachers complain that their teachers life are so simple that they could meet only teachers and students in daily life and seldom could meet their Mr. Right and some teachers could not solve the family problems and come to their classes in bad mood, which affect their teaching achievements and job satisfaction greatly.); in addition, the classroom management difficulties and school strict management and exam-orientated education policies have influence on new teachers’ job satisfaction. The researcher also found that the most important factor that affects new teachers’ job satisfaction is that whether they could get the achievement they expect of their teaching, such as the students’ study progress and their respect and love to their teachers and the classroom atmosphere. That’s to say, in this period, teachers’ job satisfaction mainly determined by their teaching ability and their expectation for their classroom teaching. At last, the researcher found that the four interviewees are more satisfied about their teaching life than they imagined after the interview by reflecting, analyzing and summarizing their teaching life in those two years as a new teacher, and this may suggest that new teachers need to do more teaching reflection so as to make them feel more satisfied about their job, which needs further study.
