As the pace of life is increasing day by day, the ability to capture the key information while communicating or listening comes to be particularly important. It has always been stressed to develop proficiency in the four language aspects:listening, speaking, reading and writing integrally in language teaching. However, in the practice of language teaching, the teachers do not pay much attention to the cultivation of students’ listening. Language teaching in primary school is the initial stage of students in learning language, which plays a crucial role in cultivation of language literacy. Consciously, to train the ability of listening in language teaching is the duty of language teachers in primary school instead of those in middle school. It is a significant topic to find out how to practice listening effectively for students, train and develop the literacy of students, and integrate them with the primary language teaching.According to the cognitive characteristics and level of education, techniques of literature research, teaching record and interviewing, together with modern education theory, principle and method of teaching, educational psychology and teaching practice, this article elaborates on these issues as follows:definition, current situation, problem and approach, and implement of primary listening training. Available attempts are made while we are trying to combine listening training and primary language teaching.
