In Chinese teaching, to develop the ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing is always the focus of our teaching. But the lower ability of listening has been a major problem that always puzzles the author. The author tries to discuss the basic meaning of listening teaching and the Chinese meaning of it from a student's vision. And the author also thinks over the necessity of the listening teaching in intelligence, emotion and social need from a student's vision. In order to analyze the listening teaching thoroughly, the author tries to explain the ability of listening in attention, discrimination, integration ability, understanding, evaluation, imagination and listening attitude. And the author also interprets the complex mutual penetration and interaction among the abilities between listening and speaking, reading, writing. In order to understand the student's practical situation, the author made a survey on the abilities of the students'listening. The author identified separately from the ability to listening, listening to record ability, listening ability to the ability of solving problems, and listening ability to evaluation ability. At the same time, the author summarized the current situation of junior high school listening teaching. The author advanced a practical listening objects, principles, training methods and evaluation methods according to the research and the practical data.
