With the development of society and the progress of science technology, thesocial life rhythm is accelerating, people need engage in advanced studies andtraining when they go out into the world. Opened distance learning satisfies the needof adult learners which has become one of the main form of lifelong learning. But meanwhile the traditional network courses cannot satisfy the need for morevarious, individual online learning content. The MOOC environment which based onthe micro-course unit emerge as the times require. Therefore the micro-courseinstructional design model and design template in MOOC environment are basedfrom the analysis of typical cases. The study also serves for related researches byproviding theoretical frameworks and practical guidance. The dissertation has five parts as following.Part One elucidates the importance and necessity of research on the wave ofMOOC and the micro-course functional requirements; clears the research problems, research contents, research methods and defines the “MOOC” and “micro-course”.Part Two focuses on the discussion of related literatures about MOOC andmicro-course.Part Three analyses the micro-course cases in two typical MOOC environmentswhich called Udacity and Udemy before summarizing the design principles ofmicro-course in MOOC environment. Then the research presents the instructionaldesign model and design template, and the model is analyzed in detail.Part Four concerned with practical studies designed a series of “computationalthinking” micro-courses under the guidance of the micro-course’s instructionaldesign model and on the basis of the template. The dissertation ends in Part Five with conclusions, contributions, insufficienciesand some comments on future researches.
