The sports stadiums, especially the big stadiums is a special building in the city, has an irreplaceable role of other buildings, the meticulously designed and built large stadium is a city landmark, reflecting the connotation and vitality of a city. But these big stadiums in the use of some large sporting events or large-scale cultural activities, most of the time only a stationary landmark, or they are left ignored on the shelf, or poor management less loss and more profit, and some even changed, but moved used to do the other’s purpose. So, how to conduct effective development and utilization of these stadiums after big events, not only can give full play to the ontological function of them, but also ensures that increasing the value of state-owned assets, it is the main problem that faced by the managers and operators.In this paper, we use the literature, expert interviews, logical analysis and other research methods, integrated sports science, management science, economics theory,to study issues related to China’s major sports venues in the diversified management proposed for the stadium opening up and provide recommendations, for consideration by the relevant departments of reference.The paper mainly include the following five areas:First, the overview of the major sports venues. Defined the concept of major sports venues, functions and attributes, product features, public product positioning are described.Second, China’s principal business model of the big stadiums analysis, the study suggests that the main business model Internal operate independently, contracting lease operation, commercial management, governance of the corporation, commission management and property company management.Third, the status quo of China’s major sports venues operated and confusion that the management concepts and tools is not enough innovation, the layout of the venues and facilities imbalance the venues utilization rate is not high, and management system lag, lack of the number of management personnel, and overall quality of is the main reason.Forth, to explore the path of China’s major sports venues diversification dependence, that the major sports stadium business should go to the body-based, multi-business; based on fundamental, open up the market; combination of tangible resources and intangible resources; local conditions, characteristics of the development of diversified operating path.Fifth, to explore China’s major sports venues diversification strategy that the right business direction to establish, strengthen personnel construction enterprise management mode, the import market; diversified operations means to improve the stadium utilization; subsidiary of space to expand intensive to optimize utilization.
