At present, a great number of the senior middle school students didn’tshow great interest in learning mathematics. To some of them, the mainpurpose of learning mathematics is only to pass the college entranceexamination and the only means of improving their mathematics is to dolots of exercises again and again, which of course is very boring. As aresult, more and more students seem to have lost the learning interest ofmathematics. As a senior middle school math teacher, I also find it isdifficulty to facing this worrying situation. Therefore, it is an urgentproblem on how to find effective ways to mobilize the students’ learninginterest in the process of teaching math.According to the curriculum standards of the high school, theteaching of mathematics should pay special attention to the effectiveways of promoting the students’ self-exploration, practice by themselves,cooperation and communication, reading, self-teaching and learningmathematic successfully. The teacher should make the students use somescientific methods like classify, analogy and deduction to prove theirthoughts during the process of analyzing, discovering and solving newproblems and help the students make a summary of what have learned,think about what have learned during learning and can build the newknowledge of their own. Due to what have been mentioned, a senior middle schoolmathematics teacher should not only take the completeness ofmathematics subject itself and the students’ understanding and master ofbasic knowledge and skill seriously, but also pay great attention to thecultivation of the students’ feeling during teaching.The purpose of this essay is to state how put necessary historyknowledge of mathematics into mathematics teaching in senior middlesschool’s mathematics teaching, during which the students can fullyunderstand the background of what they have learned. In this way theycan find that mathematics is not an independent subject but a subjectclosely related to other subject the students are learning. After realizingthis some students may find mathematics is their new start and foundationand it is also playing an important role in the development of humancivilization. Therefore, the students’ interest of learning mathematics willbe greatly improved, and I also hope the history of mathematics will helpimprove the effect of senior middle school’s mathematics teaching inclass.
