With the development of information technology, the application of mathematics has penetratedinto every field of social development. Create the competition of talent advantage is the key meansof countries to improve their international competitiveness. The new education reform of everycountry conforms to the needs of social development, which try hard to train more applied,creative talent. Mathematics is widely used in analysis, solve practical problems, so improvestudents’ mathematics application consciousness is the new characteristics of innovative talents.Therefore, mathematics consciousness and ability of application in the new era has regarded as aas an important part in high school of math literacy in modern education ideas. As a direct linkwith university education stage, the high school students in new cultural background, haverelatively mature mind, mathematics knowledge base, mathematics learning methods, such associal cultural background, they need more math study for actual life, employment, and thedifferent needs, therefore, the new curriculum reform of our country put forward the newrequirements of consciousness and ability of solve practical problems of high school students, andregarded the development of high school students mathematics application consciousness as theoverall goals. Although, middle school mathematics teachers know that high school applicationmeaning and cultivate students the importance of the application of mathematics consciousness,but because the traditional teaching and examination, fight alone, the influence of the environmentby other students, restricted the training of high school students. This causes students don’t knowmath can be used, can’t use math, not willing to use math and not good at using, the realisticproblems contributed to low levels of mathematics application consciousness. Then it killed theopportunities of high school students to further improve.This study take mathematics teachers and students in one of high schools in Ganzhou cityJiangxi province as the research object, using the questionnaire, classroom observation and theinterview method respectively. Take mathematics application consciousness theory as afoundation, from the research background of application consciousness training, and in the light ofthe existing problems in investigating and school specific conditions, analysis of the causes in theangle of culture, from teachers’ culture, students’ culture, environment’s culture, as the keyelements of mathematics application consciousness to analysis, propose suggestion of high schoolteaching in mathematics application consciousness, including: to set up the correct view ofapplication of mathematics, understand mathematics is "useful"; Create a good teachingatmosphere, let students "dare to use"; Optimize the teaching design, let students "want to use";Teach students the application method, let students "good to use", and therefore create a bettercultural environment mode of training mathematics application consciousness.
