| The beginning of the new century, as the Ministry of Education issued "Basic Education Curriculum Reform Program (Trial)", the new round of basic education curriculum reform is on this prelude. In April2003, high school chemistry curriculum standards that is issued by the Ministry of Education points out that to take further enhance students’ scientific literacy and stimulate students interest in chemistry as purpose, to respects and promotes the personality development of students; It should guide students understanding that chemistry is useful to promote social progress and to improve the quality of human life and that the interaction of science, technology and society, it also is useful to the formation of the scientific values and scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts; It should help students cultivate the spirit of cooperation, stimulate students’ creative potential and improve students’ practical abilities. Teaching suggestions stress that chemistry teaching should reflect the basic philosophy of the curriculum reform, respect and meet the needs of different students, guide students to actively learn, to grasp the basic chemical knowledge and skills, to understand the chemical textbooks literacy and humanities and to lay the foundation for the lifelong development of students by using a variety of teaching methods and means. However, the new curriculum reform makes the teachers who were outstanding become a loss. Before they teach a new lesson, they planed the classroom in accordance with the old textbook knowledge and depending on a variety of counseling book, rather than using new textbooks. And even some teachers think that the new textbook’s logic is not clear, the knowledge system is chaotic, knowledge points is messy, and many other cases, to a certain extent, they reject new textbooks so that do not play the function of the new textbooks. I had the honor to participate in the use and follow-up survey research project of high school chemistry textbooks to research the teaching function of the textbook and the factors that affect the functions.The paper is divided into the following sections:Chapter One:Introduction. It gives an overview of the background and the subject, the contents, ideas, main research methods and the purpose and significance of this study.Chapter Two:A Literature Review. I define the core concept based on the detailed analysis of the domestic and international research profile of the teaching function of the chemistry textbook. The core concepts include chemistry textbooks, teaching function and influencing factors. The paper also divided the teaching functions and influent factors in the dimensions to ready for the preparation of the questionnaireChapter Three:the teachers and students’detail analysis of the teaching functions of the textbook. This section is divided into teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire. The teacher questionnaire exploring form two sides:Assist teachers to complete teaching and promote teacher’s professional development. The student questionnaire exploring from three sides:the interest in learning, learning activities, knowledge and ability of students. The survey of the study is the teachers and students from Gansu Province and Yunnan Province.We use spssl7.0to make data analysis, the data clearly come to the suggestion of the concrete manifestation of the teaching function and the need to improve the content of teaching function.Chapter four:The statistical analysis of the influencing factors of textbook function From teachers and students. This section is divided into the teacher questionnaire and student questionnaire too. The teacher questionnaire exploring from the teacher training, teachers’and external factors. Student questionnaire let student express their viewpoint through open questions from two factors:textbooks and textbook arrangement.These two chapters expect use the main form-questionnaire, they also use Interview outline to supplement and instructions the content of the questionnaires.Chapter Five:Response by teachers and students for the two chapters:the third and fourth. We put forward comments and suggestions on the teacher’s teaching, student’s learning, the textbook writers and the education sector. |
