In recent years, with the worsening employment situation, many students have chosento participate in the civil service exam as an employment opportunity, gave birth to "thefever of civil service exam". In order to investigate individual employability, personality,natural factors and background factors influence the outcome of civil service examinationof university students, this article conducted a questionnaire survey to the college studentsof Nanjing and other place who apply to the civil service exam, which obtain empiricaldata using Excel2003and SPSS18.0. As the results of civil service exam to be explainedvariable, as individual differences (including gender, education, profession, politicalaffiliation, scholarship, the student leaders who have engaged in, work experience, parentswork unit, the total annual income of the parents, the individual employability, individualpersonality traits, etc.) to be explanatory variables, using descriptive statistical analysis,Logistic regression analysis, T test, chi-square test, and multiple statistical researchmethods, getting the following conclusion:(1) The employment capacity of college students apply for civil service is generallyhigh, there are significant differences between the two groups in learning capabilities, thedifferences lead to the civil service examination results differences including the ability oflearning, the ability of moral self-control and the ability of communicate and cooperate;(2) The personality traits of college students applying for civil tend to moderation,there are significant differences between the two groups in affinity and extraversion, thedifference which lead to the civil service examination results differences is extraversion;(3) Natural factors of college students apply for civil service and the contextualfactors which lead the differences of civil service examination result are gender, education,political affiliation, scholarships, students union and relatives whether civil, there are significant differences between the two groups in the political landscape, existing onremedial classes and parents annual income.Finally, based on statistical analysis of the results, discuss the misunderstanding ofcollege students attend public examination and propose a series of recommendations to thecandidates, schools, government and society.
