With the rapid economic development, people’s living standards continue improving, food requirements of people have changed, from meeting the number of pursuit in past turn to now emphasizes delicious, nutrition, health and safety, and thus, nutrition meat products, delicious meat products and healthy meat products be favored by consumers.In food consumption field, people consider the taste of the food, while increasing the value of its nutritional value and health security. However, because the meat industry involves multiple areas, with long industrial chain, having a close correlation with agriculture, linked to international markets closely and other characteristics, its safety supervision has become a major problem, so the safety supervision issue of meat products has become a problem that people pay more attention to. In recent years, meat products safety incidents occur frequently around the world, one of these have made greater impacted cases recently——" horsemeat storm", the storm blew EU citizens’confidence to the safety of EU meat products, and caused strong resentment among the public, but also makes us recognize the importance of meat safety more clearly, The EU food safety system is recognized as the world "safest" regulatory system, which implement the regulatory approach covers the whole food chain "from farm to table", EU meat products safety supervision either in the legal system or in regulatory mechanisms are relatively perfect, so study EU meat safety system have certain theoretical significance and practical significance. Although EU meat products safety supervision system better, this did not prevent the occurrence of security incidents meat, horsemeat scandal once again draw people’s attention to the issue of meat safety, what is the reason, how to improve meat safety supervision system, how to guarantee consumers buy meat at ease, these questions are more worthy to think for us. In this paper, using literature method, historical analysis method, comparative analysis method and case analysis method do a comprehensive exposition about EU meat products safety supervision system, based on this proposed problems of EU meat products safety supervision system as well as our reference. This paper is divided into four parts:The first part outlined EU meat products safety supervision system, define relevant concepts of EU meat products safety supervision, brief background of EU meat safe products supervision system. The second part of is EU meat products safety supervision system, from legal structure, supervision bodies and enforcement mechanisms to face EU meat products safety supervision system. This part is the difficulty part of this article. The main research significance of this paper is elaborated in this part.
