Chinese foreign policy in Sudan has already accomplished a considerable work. Actually, Sudan is one of the most important partners of China in Africa. Beijing and Khartoum keep one of the closest bilateral relations on the continent. It is the consequence of one of the most efficient policies conducted on this continent since the last30years. In the21st century, China has lead in Sudan a multiform foreign policy. This is part of China’s dynamic of strengthening its position in Africa through new types of "South-South" partnership, of "win-win" cooperation exercised by China. Through this new vision of international relations, a country can be considered as a privileged partner of the Middle Kingdom, which is the case of Sudan. China’s foreign policy in this country is a true development strategy. The people’s Republic of China (RPC) is actually experiencing a tremendous economic development phase, with impressing growing rates (9%in2004,10%in2006), which causes every country’s admiration. Chinese government has the huge challenge of supporting, strengthening and feeding this exponential growth of need in energy, notably in oil. From which we can explain its active diplomacy from Beijing towards Sudan, Africa’s5th black gold reserve. But, it would be extremist to limit relations between China and this African giant to this only energy interest. In addition, considering its geographical situation, Sudan, on the Red Sea’s shore, only a few kilometers away from the Suez canal and from Asia, presents important geopolitical advantages. To this, it must be added huge mining and natural resources which offer, without any doubt, many other cooperation opportunities. This country, rejected by the international community of nations, has become one of the key issues of China’s quest for influence, willing to get back its old times position of world leader who brought her the name of Middle Empire or Middle Kingdom. Therefore, our study is essentially focusing on political and economical aspects. It will look to understand what raisons cause China’s interest in Sudan, or what assets did permit to China to impose as the leading partner of Sudan, also, to understand the international impact of China-Sudan relation. Foreign policy of China in Sudan, which we qualify of being an energetic and an influence foreign policy, is a perfect example of, first, China’s determination and capacity to contribute to its own as well as to its partners’growth, and second, of the role she intends to occupy on this continent.
