The Influence Of Chinese Americans In The American Decision-making Towards China

As China’s international status has improved, the Chinese in the United States is increasingly growing and they not only affects the relationship between China and the United States, but also produce certain affects to the U.S. Government’s policy toward China. Therefore, it is practically significant to study the influence of the Chinese Americans in America’s China policy. The process of American decision-making is very complex. From the perspective of international relations, there are many factors that affect U.S. foreign policy decisions in China. I concern more on the domestic process of American decision-making and the roles of the Chinese Americans played in this process. Enlightened by the truth that the Jews can decide the direction of U.S. Decision-making towards Israel, I try to explain the role Chinese Americans played in the process of American decision-making towards China.Chinese American is an important branch of overseas Chinese.However, can these people play a positive role on the Sino-U.S. relations? There is skepticism towards this for a long time because Chinese Americans have no interest on politics in America. As a matter of fact, with the change of international circumstance and American domestic political environment, more and more Chinese Americans actively engage in the Sino-U.S. Relations, and they are glad to see a healthy bilateral relationship between China and America. This article mainly reviews the history of Chinese Americans to participate in American decision-making towards China and interprets deeply to promote their motivation to participate in American policy towards China and the way they participate in the decision on China, thus further analyzes the factors restricting its participation in the decision on China, and puts forward to the corresponding strategy and prospect.
