| In recent years, the issue of green government procurement has drawn a great attention amongst international organizations and countries. The concept of green government procurement is defined as a process whereby public authorities seek to procure goods, services and constructions with a reduced environmental impact throughout their life cycle when compared to goods, services and constructions with the same primary function that would otherwise be procured. The enforcement of green government procurement not only has an obvious effect on macroeconomic regulation and control, but also makes an important contribution towards local, regional, national and international sustainable goals. The practices in European Union have attached a widespread concern of the international organizations.This thesis mainly discusses legal issues of green government procurement in EU.
