Jane Adams lived in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, experiencingthe First World War, pay a great deal of effort in order for peace, and thus became thefirst American to win the Nobel Peace Prize for Women.Jane Adams published manybooks and articles on the concept of peace, established the United States Women’sPeace Party and actively participated in international peace conference for women, aschairmen of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom.This thesisinspects Jane Adams’ peace ideas generated, the main content of peace ideas, andpractices such as Adams to bring peace terms according to historical facts, and brieflyevaluates advancements as well as the limitations and shortcomings of Adams’thought of peace.This thesis has four chapters.The first chapter introduces the effect of JaneAddams’ Peace ideas. Such as she affected by his father in childhood,obtainedrevelation after the establishment of "Hull House",inspired by contemporariespacifist Tolstoy and Kant and stired up feelings by the war.The second chapterintroduces the main contents Adams’ peaceful thoughts from both anti-war andguaranteeing peace.Third chapter, according to the region,divides peace practice ofAdams into domestic peace practice,international peace practice and grain movementin botn domestic and international for the whole, elaborates during the HagueConference on Women and the International Women’s Conference in Zurich JaneAdams’ peaceful practice.Fourth chapter, analysis Jane Addams’ peace thought andpractice characteristics and outstanding contributions in improving the social status ofwomen and promote women’s peace movement.In summary,Jane Addams Peace idea is to learn from their predecessors thoughtof peace, based on their own practice and combine characteristics of the times, andcontinue to mature the concept of peace with female characteristics in practice, andtherefore widely supported by peace-loving people.Today, peace and developmentremain the themes of our times.The thought and practice of peace Jane Adams gave usis an important lesson.Research Jane Addams Peace thought and practice has greatpractical significance.
