| Since the reform and opening up30years ago, our country’s economy developsrapidly and people’s living standard has been improving significantly. With furtherdeepening of socialist democracy, people enjoy more democratic political rights thanany other societies in the history. A large number of positive, healthy cultural workspour in, which makes culture life of people richer and more colorful. However, at thesame time, the flow and transmission of outworn personal values from the westernsociety which leads the public to discard original collectivism values like “put othersbefore oneself†and “put public interest before self-interest†and new values wereunable to reach a consensus within the maximum range. The lack of values providesnonphysical base for outbreak of public crisis. In the market society, economicrelationships and material benefits are both more complicated, the disequilibrium ofmaterial and benefit distribution results in contradiction and estrangement between thepopulations. Long-term accumulation of contradiction between different groups failsto be solved and eliminated in time. Eventually, kinds of social problems emerge andaccumulate that bring new challenges to social management among which the mostserious one is the public crisis on the rise.By using comprehensive analysis and literature research methods, this articleexplores the inherent unity between ideological and political education andmanagement of public crisis, and analyzes all kinds of functions of ideological andpolitical education in public crisis including forecast, warning and helping adminprincipal find the precipitating factor of crisis that prevents it from exacerbating andspreading. In the outbreak period of public crisis, the combination of ideological andpolitical education between law and administration will decrease the scale and extentof crisis, thus reduce the loss brought by crisis and the cost of crisis management.Public crisis will not only lead to material loss but also create shadow and burden topeople’s mind. Ideological and political education can guide, solve, defuse andeliminate the negative effect resulted by public crisis with various carriers andmethods in the later stage of crisis.In the last part, the article compares the cases with similar background, andanalyzes the results of different approaches. Aiming at difficulties and shortages facedby the management of public crisis in our country, it proposes to strengthen theawareness of using ideological and political education for crisis management, establish a comprehensive crisis information gathering, feedback system to enhancethe crisis monitoring capacity for improvement and innovation of methods, carriersand environment for ideological and political education in public crisis management,and build up multidimensional counseling education system. All of thesemeasurements can put ideological and political education into full play inmanagement of public crisis. |
