| Based on the assumption that Marx presents the consumption is a relation between human implementation and human reality, this paper makes a research on the consumption in ethical perspective, analyzing some values such as frugality, extravagance. The chief aim of the paper is to study two predominant consumption concepts of today’s china-----traditional frugality and Consumerism, starting from the economical rationality and the moral legitimacy of consumption ethics and focusing on the discussion about the current theoretical fences of paradox of frugality and paradox of consumption and attempts to show the contradiction and the opposition between traditional frugality and consumption by discussing the relation of frugality and extravagance, Chinese and West, traditional concepts and modern concepts and analyzing the ethical concept of righteousness and benefit, economical rationality and moral legitimacy and values of self-interest and altruism, thus pointing out the fundamental crux of paradox of frugality and paradox of consumption, so the scientific consumption ethic and the theoretical concept of beyond-paradox has been presented. Finally, the paper indicates clearly that frugality as a traditional virtue has valuable significance in building the system of modern scientific consumption ethic and makes a constant theoretical conclusion that frugality is a kind of mediocre way of consumption. |
