Jingdezhen city has the culture with more than1800years of brilliant millennium porcelain craftsmanship. The people there can produce exquisite porcelains which have an amputation of "as white as jade, as bright as mirror, as thin as paper, sound as loud as rock" in the world. All these make Jingdezhen known as "porcelain city". the city’s name "Jingdezhen" has become a golden plaque and a card on behalf of ceramic brand culture. Meanwhile, the essence of Chinese traditional craftsmanship and the strong regional character make it more fit with the protection system of geographical indications.However, the protection history of geographical indications is very short in China. Because of weak awareness and the defects of protection system, a wide variety of geographical indications can not be protected, especially for Jingdezhen porcelain. Different kinds of violations bring huge harm to Jingdezhen. There are two reasons. On the one hand, the existing jurisdiction conflicts caused by the double mode not only create conflict between administrative departments, but also make Jingdezhen ceramic enterprises at a loss. On the other hand, weak awareness of brand protection and weak capacity of Ceramic Association can not effectively protect the interests of the Jingdezhen ceramic enterprises, which make the protection of Jingdezhen porcelain worse.Based on an investigation in Jingdezhen, this article will combine french geographical indications protected-mode and analysis of geographical indications protection in China, and finally figure out a special law to protect traditional advantage products in our country. Specifically to Jingdezhen geographical indication, the identification organization, exit mechanisms, regulatory agency and protection measures are included in the special protection. Now, more and more Jingdezhen geographical indication protection questions appear. This shows us that there are many severe problems of geographical indications in China. A new special model for geographical indication protection must be enforced.
