Scheler Theory Sympathy Feeling Phenomenology Perspective

The value of Scheler’s phenomenology of emotion,“emotional” occupies adecisive position. He tried to re-establish "emotional" ontological and epistemologicalposition, he with "emotion" as the basic facts of phenomenology review. Throughphenomenological perspective of Scheler’s phenomenology of emotion, with Husserl’sphenomenological method, focus on the value orientation of individual and group life,and then turn to the real life from a purely theoretical, from philosophy to promotesocial theory.The main idea of this article is to Scheler sympathy theory as the foundation,combining the different interpretation of the concept of sympathy for Scheler to explorethe full range, complex connotations, which reveals the basic characteristics and theideology of Scheler theory of sympathy.Scheler took a different approach and Husserl’s transcendental phenomenology,the phenomenon of emotion his philosophy. He took some phenomenological method,starting from the analysis of the basic phenomenon of emotion, to the basic value ofspecific sense is forward, he analyzed the phenomenon of emotion sympathy, theanalysis of problems and his interest in modern public order and social order disorder isclosely related to. Scheler, Hume, Schopenhauer in the summary of previous“sympathy” theory against the “sympathy” as the highest moral value, and trying toinfer all the behaviors with moral value. He thought that own the premise andfoundation of sympathy concept. Scheler put forward the research on “sympathy”should be the essence and significance of analysis of the phenomenon. And further tovarious forms of “sympathy” of this concept. Scheler believes that “sympathy”phenomenon can be divided into four forms, and he believes that these four kinds of“sympathy” are reflected, which the meaning and characteristics of different generated between the different situation of human emotions. In the traditional Chinese philosophy,also has the similar feeling phenomenon of “sympathy”. As Confucius “benevolence”and Mencius “four beginnings” are emphasized in the Chinese culture foundation ofmoral and ethical issues. Scheler’s “sympathy” concept with his intersubjective studyhave a great relationship, and Scheler believes that “sympathy” concept is alwayspointing to the relation between the self and others. So the theory of “inter-subjectivity”is the precondition of “sympathy” phenomenon. Scheler’s thought of “sympathy” isalso involves Scheler’s understanding of the “love”, which with sympathy is mutualbasis in fact. Through the “hate” and “sympathy” contrast between the two extremeforms of “love”, which reveals the conflict and salvation for the value decay of modernpeople.
