Huang Tingjian is one of the most important calligraphers in Song Dynasty. His highly personalized big-size characters have made significant impact on the later calligraphers. This article bases on the study origin of Huang’s regular scripts and chooses his later work for analyzing. It is obviously that Wen Zhengming and Zhu Yunming in Ming Dynasty had learned and showed the same artistic features as Huang. By comparing these two calligraphers’ work with Huang’s, this article investigates Huang’s influence on the Wu School in middle Ming Dynasty. |
