In the last half of20th century, Chinese society experienced one and another political movement. Those political movements influenced not only the society, history and culture of China in different extents, but also the life history of those who lived in the historical circumstance naturally. The ideology, activity and fully exert subjectivity of individuals in certain historical context, would result different life history. On the contrary, social and historical event would affect one’s life history as well as thinking pattern. So-called life history means one’s played role and its transformation with given cultural and social influence.The thesis analyzed Boh-Tomor, a Mongolian literator’s life history with American Socialist Elder’s theory. Boh-Tomor’s life had been influenced by political and social events, as well as changes of time, place and environment, and he played different social roles consequently. The transformation of social roles results in his thinking, behavioral and value changes. Analyzing his life history from perspective of relationship between political restriction elements and individual subjectivity deserves certain enlightenment value.The thesis consists of five parts. The Introduction explains research proposal including research purpose, study significance, life history theory and methodology and previous case study; The first chapter introduces BOh-Tomor’s hometown, the historical and social context in which he was grown up, his family background and schooling experiences; The second chapter accounts for B6h-Tomor’s work experiences in complex political circumstances, and expatiates his thought in political events and tracks of his activities and value formation. In third chapter, the author analyzed B6h-Tomor’s subjective choice in given political and social environment, and his opinion regarding individual value; The conclusion induced Boh-Tomor’s life history and sense of value from childhood to aged from perspective of four fundamental principles in Elder’s Life History theory.
