Chinese painting has a long history. Chinese meticulous figure have been improved since the beginning of its history. It shows the stably unique Oriental aesthetic.People can learn the unique charm of Chinese painting from the classic works. For the inheritance and development, the excellent tradition of Chinese painting is the solid foundation of meticulous figure in every dynasty. Learning form the history of meticulous figure aroused us to consider the problem in the development of modern Chinese meticulous figure. It is important for us to know what we should inherit from the tradition and what we should absorb from the alien civilization. It is necessary for us to review the meticulous figure above the contemporary prosperity of it.This thesis tentatively discuss the planarity of Chinese meticulous figure from its unique conception of modeling. The planar modeling is the basis feature of Chinese painting that differ from the western painting. This thesis analyzed the improvement of planarity by discussing the Chinese meticulous figure in Ming dynasty. This thesis also aroused the some problems of the improvement of modern Chinese meticulous figure.
