The Beijing city has been built more than3,000years, and its history as the Capital is also over860years. The historical and cultural heritages are very rich including guild halls. In the long history, with the development of social economy, Beijing guilds appeared in the capital as social organizations with period features are important carriers of history and culture. Most of the guilds have not been saved, but their context still exists, and Beijing Office appeared as new carrier of guild culture. It is the key to heritage the city’s historical context to handle the relationship between the protection of historical and cultural in cities and modern urban construction, historical and cultural elements of space reconstruction. This paper is one of the results of the project’The Research of Beijing Guild Halls’ financially supported by the Institute of Beijing Studies and the Importation and Development of High-Caliber Talents Project of Beijing Municipal Institutions’ Research on the Spatial Reconstruction of Historical and Cultural Heritages and Construction of City Culture in Beijing’.The paper expresses the spatial distribution of Beijing guild built in different time, and forecasts the cultural space reconstruction trend of Beijing guild combining with the protection status of traditional and the spatial distribution of Beijng offices with ArcGIS.The thesis consists of five chapters:Chapter1"Introduction", which introduces the background of study and the significance and main methods of research,and combs the study both at home and abroad about the guild. Chapter2"The evolution of Beijing guild hall and it’s Culture Space", which describes the origin and development of Beijing guild, as well as the changes in function, type and cultural space during the Ming and Qing Dynasty to the Republic guild.Chapter3"The problems of Beijing guild Hall’s protection Utilization", which summarizes the protection and utilization problems of guilds built during the Ming and Qing and the Republic of China by collecting the documents and fieldwork. Chapter4"The development of modern hall-Beijing Office and the Chamber of Commerce and their cultural space", which elaborates the spatial distribution and functions of the Beijing Office by literature collection, field surveys and in-depth interviews and other qualitative research methods, and has a rough analysis of the Chamber of Commerce. Chapter5"The proposal of integration and reconstruction in culture space of Hall of Beijing guild hall and Beijing Office and the Chamber", which put forwards the suggestions to reconstruct the cultural space between traditional guilds and modern Beijing Office.
