"Translation And Norms" (first, Ten, Twelve Chapters) Translation Report

This is a report on the translation of Translation and Norms by a Germanlinguistic doctor Christina Sch ffner, of which Chapter1, Chapter10, and Chapter12are the source text. The book belongs to a kind of academic journal issued by AstonUniversity,Birmingham,UK.In this book,it suggests that Norms are conventional, andthey are shared by members of a community, i.e. they function intersubjectively asmodels for behaviour, and they also regulate expectations concerning both thebehaviour itself and the products of this behaviour, which makes people realize theconcept and function of translation.The report is composed of four parts. The firstpart gives a brief introduction to the project, including its background, significanceand structure, while the second part explores the preparation containing thetheoretical basis, the author. The third part focuses on the difficulties and the relevantskills of translation. At last, the fourth part makes a conclusion about the report,including the experience and lessons drawn from this project as well as limitations ofthe study and prospects for further study.Based on Skopostheorie, the report mainly summarizes the difficulties,translation strategies and methods, as well as lessons and unsolved problems.
