Traditional Chinese painting emphasizes the subjective meaning of the performance and pay more attention to "express oneself". The painters show their artistic state and emotions with deep thought and wide state that combined aesthetic concept. As the development of economic and cultural transformation, the painter’s aesthetic thoughts appeared calm, quiet and natural style in the middle of the Ming dynasty. A famous painter named Shen Zhou, described scenery objectively with aesthetic idea in his "Dong Zhuang Atlas" which showed a style of plain naive, simple elegant era flavor under the background of traditional landscape painting and created the new style belongs to himself. It also implicates a unique aesthetic value to the future generations.In order to fully understand the "atlas", this essay discussed the social background of that time and combined with the former generation painter landscape painting creation. Longitudinal comparison and horizontal comparison is used to find purely objective aesthetic characteristics in the "atlas" of Shen Zhou. This essay also discussed the composition of the landscape painting creation, landscape, pen and ink techniques innovation, that reveals Wen Zhiming and HuaYan’s aesthetic effects. Finally, it also discussed the enlightenment of Shen Zhou’s landscape painting creation.
