| Tian Xi, was born in the five dynasties, mainly active during the periods of EmperorTaizong and Zhenzong. He was an important figure of political field and literary word in theearly Northern-Song Dynasty. In politics, his integrity to win the admiration of the word; inliterature, he has a lot of writings, removed the floating and extravagant atmosphere of theliterary word. His poetry has rich connotation and diverse styles, open the key of Song Poetry inthe inheritance and development. According to social environment and his character,this paperanalyze the connotation and style to make a more comprehensive and systematic study of TianXi’s poetry.This paper divides into3parts of introduction, text and conclusion.The introduction part mainly describes the summary and research status of Tian Xi poetry,and to Point out the omissions of the research.The text is composed of five chapters. Chapter One analyzes the age and life of Tian Xi.To understand the Tian Xi’s path and thinking according to the era environment, familybackground and experience, and to provide background information for the study of Tian Xi’spoetry.Chapter Two summarizes the spiritual connotation of Tian Xi’s poetry. Tian Xi’s abundantexperience and various identity determines the multiple connotation of his poetry: he is acourtier, embodying loyalty and affection to the emperor and people in the poem; he is a scholar,exhibiting leisure and rich atmosphere in the poem; he is a poet, and his poetry is full ofsentimental moods; he is also a philosopher, and always reflects the philosophy of life in thepoem.Chapter Three studies the artistic styles of the poetry. Tian Xi adheres to the eclectic theoryof poetry, so his poetry style is colorful. This chapter analyzes the leisure, fresh and vigorousstyle combined with his works.Chapter Four analyzes the genre of Tian Xi’s poetry. On the basis of the seven characterpoems and ancient poems, this chapter analyzes the inheritance and development of poetry, toexplore the uniqueness of his poetry.Chapter Five studies the historical status of Tian Xi. To investigate his status and influencein the two aspects of literature and politics, the unique contribution he made to the formation ofSong Dynasty’s poetry and literati’s personality.The conclusion part summarizes the poetic theory and practice. Although his theory has not formed a complete system, opens the prelude to the reform of song poetry. |
