Samuel Barber (1910—1981) was famous composers of modern American. Barber wasborn in the twentieth century in the United States. He was a master of melody writing, thusthere are reputation of "music poet". Then the premiere of "the first symphony" in the U.S.performed by the Cleveland orchestra led by Rodolf Ringwall on January21and23,1937inCleveland.New York Philharmonic finised three symphony orchestra’s performance under thecommand of ROM kinski On March24,1937at Carnegie Hall. In the same year in July,Rodzinski commanded and played again "the first symphony" in Salzburger Festspiele.It isthe first time that playing American composition in Salzburger Festspiele and barber alsoestablished status and reputation in the international music industry.The topic of the thesis consists of five parts,including introduction, three chapters andepilogue.The author discusses three aspects of the purpose and meaning of the thesis, researchstatus at home and abroad and research methods and thoughts in the introduction part.
