With the development of society and the promotion of the Mandarin goessmoothly, the variety of dialects are rapidly disappearing in many areas. Therefore,the dialect records and collecting becomes the urgent and necessary work fornowadays, and it makes the dialect research extremely urgent. First of all, theinvestigation of the dialects has a great significance to the language standardizationand Mandarin promotion, during that we can find the corresponding rules betweendialect and Mandarin. With the recognize of the similarities and differences betweenthem, it helps people learning Mandarin efficiently. Furthermore, the investigation andanalysis of the dialect is favorable to the Chinese language standardization. If onlyknowing the corresponding rules of dialect and Mandarin well, you can become a“bilingual” person that can speak standard Mandarin and also pure dialect.Moreover,the Chiping dialect research is still in its initial stage, there are no linguistic expertsand scholars making a special study about it, and also specialized books or researcharticles are still in the blank stage, we need a systematic research on Chiping dialect.This makes the complete investigation of Chiping dialect has become very important.Chiping County under the Liaocheng City, which is located in the westernShandong Province, according to the "Shandong dialect division", it belongs to thewestern QI division which is a branch of Shandong dialect. It is the JILU mandarinamong the northern dialect. Based on the Chiping dialect as the research object,through field investigation and comparison method, from the level of SynchronicLinguistics and Diachronic linguistic we carried out a systematical investigation andresearch of the Chiping dialect to get a preliminary study. By recording the status ofthe Chiping dialect, these will be the existence and development memorial in thehistory. This paper is divided into five chapters, the main contents are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, which is divided into two sections. The firstsection introduces the geography, population, and historical evolution of the Chipingdialect; the second section described the general situation of the Chiping dialect, first introduced the district ownership of the Chiping dialect and main phonetic features,followed by analysis of the internal differences in regional and community of Chipingdialect. And then it introduced the use of symbols in this paper, finally list the mainpronunciation cooperator of the dialect investigation. The native dialect of the authoris Chiping dialect, but we have made a further confirm, through the comparison withthe pronunciation partner.The second chapter is the phonetic system of Chiping dialect, which is dividedinto two sections. The first section summarizes the initials, finals and tones system ofChiping dialect; the second section analyzes the phonetic structure system of Chipingdialect, with chart analysis the combination of the initials, finals and tones system ofthe Chiping dialect, and lists the homophony syllabary.The third chapter is flow-related phonetic change of Chiping dialect, which isdivided into five sections. It describes the phonetic change from the aspects such astone change, light tone, retroflex, assimilation, dissimilation phenomenon in theChiping dialect.The fourth chapter is the comparison of Chiping dialect and Mandarin, which isdivided into three sections. Mainly from the synchronic level it made the comparisonbetween Chiping dialect and Mandarin respectively from three aspects of initials,finals and tones, through comparative analysis, it can be helpful for the Chipingpeople to learn Mandarin.The fifth chapter is the comparison of Chiping dialect and ancient Chinesephonology, which is divided into three sections. Mainly from the Diachronic level, itmade the comparison between Chiping dialect and ancient Chinese phonologyrespectively from three aspects of initials, finals and tones. Through comparativeanalysis, we can obtain the evolution principle of the Chiping dialect from ancient topresent.
