Shaanxi Ming Dynasty Princes And Local Community

The issue of vassal is one of the important system in the feudal era. The enfeoffment system of the imperial clan is very important content with politics, economy, military, culture of Ming Dynasty. This thesis study the relationship between Shaanxi vassal and local society in Ming Dynasty, gradually reveal the important influence between the member of the enfenoffment and the local society life of Shaanxi province in Ming Dynasty. In Ming Dynasty, the geographical impregnability of Shaanxi, which directly at the junction with the surrounding minority, is the important geographical unit for the protection of the Central Plains. The study about the vassal has many references to explore the vassal, the local social life and the feudal system of enfeoffment itself in Ming dynasty.The introduction part of this thesis introduces the academic research about the feudal system of enfeoffment of Ming Dynasty, especially the situation of Shaanxi vassal’s research, to explore the feasibility of this study.Text first chapter introduces the feudal systems of Ming dynasty, such as the etiquette system of the investiture, marriage, palace salary and officials and administrations of the vassal mansions. Then there is a brief description about the geographic profile and population, pedigree of the vassal in Shaanxi.The second chapter introduces the relationship between the vassal king in Shaanxi province and the local administration. Shaanxi as a border powerhouse, the enfeoffment of the vassal is closely related with the military during the period of Zhu Yuanzhang, it changes in the later and the rebellion of Zhu Zhifan shows they have lost the right to rule. Although someone is serious, but most of the officials have no way to solve the problems about the vassal destroy the government agencies and harm the local situation, because of the identity of the vassal, even they have serious conflicts between officials and the vassal, which greatly affected the normal administration in Shaanxi province.The third chapter elaborates the relationship between the vassal and the social economy in Shaanxi province. After the vassal come to the place, they are used in a variety of ways for the field by virtue of privilege, which harm the local social. With the development of population, the salary of the vassal is too big to solve, which caused the revolt of the people. The fourth chapter discourses the relationship between the vassal and the local social life in Shaanxi province. They don’t have the privilege in the political except in the daily life. They lived a life of luxury, build a lot of pavilions, conflict with each other and destroy the normal life. Meanwhile, few of them have a good relationship with others and build their hometown, which is the positive factor to influence social ethos.The fifth chapter discourses the cultural achievement of the vassal. Due to the particular background, their achievement has their own characteristic. They made a contribution to the literature, history, handwriting, book collection, book engraving, and so on., which is a positive part in the history.The conclusion part made a simple summarization for the full thesis.
