From1930s to1940s, under the background of national peril, the female writers gathering in Yan’an, constitute a significant writing group. They rely on the meticulosity and sensitivity of female intellectuals, grip the pulse of the times, close to the forefront of real life, go deep into the crack of human relations and describe people’s life, especially women’s life of liberated area during the war years for us with smart and delicate brushwork. It provides us a rare historical information to understand the social culture of that time. At the same time, their creative practice in yan’an period, especially the creation pattern and writing style which formed after the rectification movement, deeply impacts and standardizes the later development of women’s writing. Therefore, In-depth study their creation of this period, is not only good for us to further understand the female literature of Seventeen-year and the female literature of the great cultural revolution, but also good for us to deeply understand and grasp the whole of the20th century Chinese female literature. In addition, the Yan’an female writers’life path and their attempt to find a balance point between the literary creation and political norms, also provide valuable historical experience for us to explore the important issue of the modern Chinese history in the20th century, such as intellectuals and revolution, gender and class, literature and politics. Although it has such a great academic value and significance, academic circles gives little attention and research to this group. It mainly concentrated in the study of individual writers and works, rarely take it as a whole to explore. Therefore, the study on this group, can not only fill the blank in the research of this aspect, but also enrich the Chinese modern female literature’s research. It really has great academic value and practical significance.The introduction section of this paper mainly elaborates why I choose the group of Yan’an female writers to explore and the value of this study, and the current research situation of this field. Then on this basis, to clarify the research methods and point out the problems that the study want to solve.The first chapter mainly discusses the generation background and the characteristics of the group of Yan’an female writers. Under the premise of awakening of women’s consciousness and national crisis, Yan’an female writers go to Yan’an because they are dissatisfied with the Kuomintang’s anti-Japanese policies and cultural attitude, and attracted by the communist party of China’s policies. Most of them have good cultural literacy and strong women consciousness. In the creation, they also present the same historical stage characteristics.The second chapter mainly focuses on the Yan’an female writers’ writing practice. Bounded by the rectification movement, we can divided their writing practice into two periods:In the previous period, their creations focus on the narration of national discourse and enlightenment discourse and female discourse; after the rectification movement, their creations concentrate upon the identification and expression of the new democratic discourse. In this conversion, great changes have taken place in their creative standpoint and their works’theme, content, style and so on.The third chapter mainly discusses the main characteristics and the cultural significance of Yan’an female writers’creation from the perspective of feminism,In Yan’an female writers, the polymerization of multiple roles leads to their creation of irreducible complexity. On the one hand, in order to correspond to the needs of the times and political, they weaken their female standpoint actively, on the other hand, their gender experience and identity of women leads them to pay attention to women’s living condition and cultural dilemma. It makes a tension in their text, and has a more complex meaning. In addition, Yan’an female writers’ awareness about women’s edge situation in the revolutionary ranks makes their writing with obvious marginality, and greatly different from male writers’ writing.The conclusion part bases on the overview of Yan’an female writers and their creation, points out its cultural significance and ideological value, and gives some research suggests. The group of Yan’an female writers and their writing practice provides us a wealth of historical experience, it’s really worth to be valued. Today, we should put it in a more open and pluralistic context to study.
