In the21th century,‘museum’ has become a popular word. Museums and artmuseums are built in many cities which intend to exhibit their regional culture as abrand, and museums and art museums are the most powerful symbols of culture.Based on the objective materials which were accumulated during the history ofGuangdong Art Museum, the author will analyze and study the relation betweenGuangdong Art Museum and regional culture, discuss the logic connection betweenGuangdong Art Museum and regional culture by means of deduction.The thesis starts with the conservation of traditional visual images in GuangdongArt Museum, then analysis the relation between art museums and regional culture andthe marginalization of cultural image. In the aspect of the construction and generationof temporary culture, through the analysis and combination of successive ‘GuangzhouTriennial’, the author will describe the responsibility and contribution of an artmuseum in the process of cultural construction. This could expand to three aspects:the conservation of regional culture, the reflection of current situation and theassumption in the future. In the end, the author raises two cultural theory questionswhich are closely related to the topic to be discussed, one of them is the culturaldiscourse and public credibility of art museums, and the other is the culturalmisunderstanding of regional culture in art museum.
