Poetic Color

Chinese painting used to be called "Red and Green" in the ancient times, which could be a strong evidence that color has played a crucial role in Chinese painting. The thesis is to analyze the ancient Chinese ideology such as "five elements and five colors", Confucius, Dao philosophy, to trace back to the color history in Chinese painting, to compare the difference between Chinese color and Western color, so as to find out the color philosophy in China. Based on self-study and practice, we can conclude that in Chinese painting system, the use of color is positive and rhetorical. This unique aesthetic taste is filled with harmonious and poetic romanticism.
