Zhiling Chen(1605-1666), whose given name is "Yansheng" and who styledhimself as "Su’an", was born in a notable family in east of Zhejiang, Whose fatherwas a procurator. Zhiling Chen was friend of Qianyi Qian and Mingxia Chen in whenhis was young and participated in Donglin Party and Fushe. In1634, Zhiling Chensucceed in the highest imperial examination and secured an official position tocompile and edite history and promoted to position of Zhongyun. However, Zhiling’sFather was committed a crime in1635and lost his official positon forever. To avoidimplicating himself, Zhiling poised his father and went to Nanming for a shelter. Laterthe army of Qing wined and Zhiling surrendered. Zhiling had been an official in Qingsince1647, and was send to Liaoyang in1656, then back to the capital. In1658, Allhis family transmigrated to Shengjing and he died there in1666. Through Zhiling’slife, with complicated political experience in Ming and Qing, he had his good time asa descendant of a notable family, a successful candidate in the highest imperialexamination and high official position up to teacher of crown prince, as well as he hadhis bad time, transmigrated twice and died there at Fortress Shangyang in Liaodong.Zhiling’s had several chapbooks, including Book of Xuanjitang, Book of cloud,Second book if cloud, Draft of one in a hundred, but only the Book of cloud inheritedto now. Book of cloud has12volume. Volume1is ode; Volume2is four-characterpoems; Volume3is five-character poems; Volume4is seven-character poems;Volume5and6are five-character octaves; Volume7and8are seven-characteroctaves; Volume9is five-character long octave; Volume10is five-character “cutshorts”;Volume11is seven-character “cut shorts”; and Volume12is poetry of Song’sstyle. In all, Zhiling has about800poems which passed to now.This research adopted research methods from philology, history and geographyto analyze and summarize the value of Book of cloud and its significance in NortheastLiterature. The thesis has four chapters:Chapter one: Life of Zhiling Chen. His all hisexperience is clarified in this chapter as a support for his poem research.Chapter Two: The form of Book of cloud. In this chapter, the original form ofBook of cloud is detailed. Chapter Three: The content of Book of cloud. In this chapter, the content of Bookcloud, especially the part of content connected to Northeast context are examined,classified and summarized.Chapter Four: Significance of Book of cloud. The significance od Book of cloud,especially to Northeast literature is analyzed and summarized.Epilogue. In this chapter, the author represents her understanding about Zhiling’slife and his works, and as well as her willing to contribute to the research of poetexiled to Northeast of China.
