This movement, symbolized by a large number of historic murals,had a profound effect on the internationalart world. From this movement, quite a few distinguished Mexican domestic artists emerged, among which Diego Rivera is the most dazzling one. Both his distinctive national&folk painting style and unique artistry promised him a representative of the Mexican Spirit. Among his many contributions, Rivera is credited with inheriting&developing domestic Mexican original arts.‘Nationality’ is the core word of Rivera’s artworld, which distinguishes him from other muralists. This article introduces and analyses Mexican fresco movement, its motive and effect, as well as the inherent relationbetween Rivera’s art style and the movement.
