Implicit stigma of mental illness consists of cognition, negative effect, and discriminatory. It remains a serious social issue, occurring across nations and cultures worldwide. It is a significant barrier to the seeking of mental health service, successful treatment and rehabilitation.In this paper we asked213students to participate in our study. The study is divided into3parts.In the first study we asked120undergraduates to participate to in the SC-IAT study to test the essential components of implicit stigma of mental illness. The results show that the SC-IAT effect of fear and shame are significant. The study demonstrates that fear and shame are the essential components of implicit stigma of mental illness.In the second study we asked63undergraduates to participate in the IAT study to test the components of implicit stigma of mental illness. The results show that the IAT effect of negative stereotypes, negative emotional experience, and negative behavioral tendencies are significant, as well as the relations among them. The study demonstrates that stigma of mental illness are mainly constituted of negative-stereotypes, negative emotional experience, as well as negative behavioral tendencies.In the third study we asked60undergraduates to participate in to check the relationship between implicit stigma of mental illness and stigma behavior. The results show that the relations among the IAT effect and automatic stigma behavior are significant. The study demonstrate that stigma of mental illness may predict the automatic stigma behavior.
