To review one century history of Chinese films, literature has always played animportant role. And it’s known that numerous classical movies are adapted fromnovels. The massive literary works of1980s were filmed to show on screens, thus theprosperity of literature has led to the prosperity of movie. The theme of this article isresearching the80’s movie adaption, and the basic point is the interactive relationshipbetween movie and literature. The thesis summarizes successful experiences in the80’s the Chinese movie adaptions through the basic overview about the1980s films.There are four parts of this thesis. The first part elaborates the correlation betweenfilms and literatures and analyzes the ambiguous standards of films adaption between“faithful theory” and “creative theory”. In the last paragraph, a rough conclusion isreached that “Not every literary works are fit for film adaption”. The second partdescribes the basic overview about the80’s movie adaption, including combingmovies and selection, and analyzes the radical transforms of Chinese films adaptionfrom1980s. The third part reveals the1980s typical time characters which have beenreflected in80s adapted films through analyzing four individual cases “LifeConsciousness”,“Realism”,“Self Consciousness”,“Aesthetic Consciousness” fromthe perspective “reflecting contemporary consciousness”. The fourth part lists severalinsights drawn from the experience of1980s successful film adaptations, hoping thethesis could be useful for the future of Chinese adapted films.
