| Picture series was once the most popular picture publication in China. It has been held an important place amongst several generations since it birth until perish in almost a hundred year. Because of the unique value and special characteristic of picture series, those collectors started to pay attention to it from late1980s. As a result, the picture series gradually become the5th largest collection after Chinese painting and calligraphy, Chinese porcelain, stamps and coins in the collection market as an up-rising star.Based on a large amount of historical data on development and collection of picture series, combining the current situation of picture series collection market, this paper tries to introduce how it has taken shape and the scale it has reached from the perspective of developing history and source of value in a systematic way, as well as explore the reasons and makes proposals accordingly. |
