Looking back the passing by2012, there is a documentary film, prevailing all over the hot television series. The network searches and clicks about it are high for a long time, it has triggered "taobao hot" and "gourmet hot" one and only, and the boom continues. It is known as the "a milestone in the history of Chinese documentary events", and it is considered to be "Documentary returns to public view." This documentary is "A Bite of China", produced by channel CCTV-9. After the broadcasting,"A Bite of China"’ was evaluated by a great number of media as" one of the most important cultural innovation of2012", this shows that documentary launched by CCTV-9, represented by "A Bite of China""formed a blunt force, and won the broad social influence." In this paper, the research mainly concentrated in the following three aspects:first, analyze the film context, including China’s regional characteristics, diet culture and television documentary style evolvement; Second, through the image analysis points out that the film is a perfect documentary in terms of recording concept such as the ingenious structure, parallel montage, philosophical commentary and incredible wonderful image language. Third, its cultural communication effects at home and abroad, including homesickness, promotion of ethnologic amalgamation, and for overseas audience to understand and agree with today’s cosmopolitan China, are just what the film’s values of cultural transmission.
