children’s drama could play a very important role in children’s life, which mayaffect the approach of building a positive value standard and an aesthetic standardwith innovative idea. Meanwhile, the educational effort of children’s drama couldhelp them to understand considerable amount of normal knowledge. In1919, aChinese children’s drama, which is known as “dawn”, was created by Mr. Guo moruo.So far it has been recognized as the mile stone of Chinese modern children’s dramaand the first explore. Before1980s, the main problem of children’s drama is the lackof script due to the tricky time period. At that time, the source of children’s drama isquite limited because of the political restriction. However, this industry hassuccessfully created their distinctive theme theory and language style throughcombining Chinese national elements with common stage craft. With the rise ofmass electrical media time in1980, there is a new field coming in company with newimage culture, new consumerism and new recreation culture. This field hasaccurately provided a brand new life style for people while it has controlled thechanging of people’s ideology. It is not only to adult, but also to child. Now a days,the children’ life is highly depended on electrical media which will bring themunnecessary or even harmful information, so that it could be really far from ourtraditional definition of children hood. As Neal postman said, our children’schildhood is becoming disappeared. Therefore, a problem has arisen in order to saveour lost childhood of children. It is no doubt that children’s drama will be the mostapplicable solution to bring the childhood back to our children. As mentioned above,children’s drama has several functions to help children to build up a healthy valuestandard. If children’s drama could be promoted and accepted by most of children, itcould avoid children to accept some inappropriate knowledge from electrical mediaby clean, positive symbol and scenario. Unfortunately, the industry of Chinesechildren’s drama is still underdevelopment or even remaining the same with thesituation before1980s, but it still has a lot of opportunities to bring back its honorunder the stage of fiercely development of internet and multimedia. It should be taking into our consideration about the development of children’s drama in thismodern electrical time and such multimedia method will affect the way of operatingchildren’s drama industry. In this paper, the main issue will be how to make children’sdrama industry math with the modern culture without losing the traditional cultureelement. The author will be utilizing the data from children’s theatre of china welfareinstitute in shanghai as an example to explain the cause of recession in Chinesechildren’s drama industry, and some recommendations will be provided in order topromote and develop this industry.This paper will contain three section, including introduction, main discussionpart and conclusion.In introduction part, it will state the importance of this research which aims tochildren’s drama, the current research trend and the purpose of this paper.There will be three sub sections in the main body. The first chapter willsummarize the history of children’s theatre of China welfare institute, and descriptthe consequence from the marginalization and staling of children’s drama. Thesecond chapterwill discussion and analyze the causes of marginalization and stalingfrom the script concept, writing theory and marketing etc. It will find out the mainchallenges and opportunities arise from the development of electrical media. Withthe high level of globalization, children’s drama has to be involved in this globalmarket to compete with many other kinds of media. The way to survive in thisbattlefield is the key matter for this industry. The last chapter will provide somerecommendations and suggestion for the development of children’s drama.As the conclusion section, the author will prompt the expectation, the limitationand the potential issue of future developing in children’s drama industry.
