This paper based on music aesthetic, focused on the mental and physical healthof elderly people. Researched and put forward some rational suggestions on theeffect on mental and physical of aesthetic activities of elderly chorus, method ofmusic selecting, singing forms, relationship between hearing and singing, and theadvantage and disadvantage of attending competitions through the data got fromsocial investigation. This paper also researched and discussed the epitaxial effect ofelderly chorus activities.The purpose of this paper is to give an objective evaluationon Shanghai elderly chorus status, ascended the health level to mental level fromphysical level,emphasized the decision of the rate between listening and singingshould be based on the special aesthetic of elderly people, from the discussing onways of elderly aesthetic activities with the entry point of the method of musicchoice. And also to give an objective evaluation on elderly chorus competitionactivities, in order to fix the disadvantages, and promote elderly choir activitieswith aesthetic as the core, let elderly chorus activities more in line with the wishes ofthe elderly people and improve the aesthetic effect of the elderly. This paper usedthe methods of questionnaire survey, data statistics and adoption; Literature review;Psychology, physiology, sociology research reference; Elderly choir present situationanalysis; Feasible Suggestions argument; Analytical methods such as aesthetic effect,etc. This paper discussed elderly "chorus" combined with "aesthetic", provide a newview of the elderly chorus activities development, promoted the activities developedon a sustainable path. The research result of this paper will make elderly people’ lifemore colorful, encourage older chorus activities bring more enjoyment.
