Akhmatova is a great Russian poetic artist in20th century, known as the "Moon" of Russian poetry. Not only does this title affirm the historical status of the poet, but also conveys the style and characteristics of her poetry. By reading the poems of Akhmatova at different stages, we can find that her poems’ themes and styles experienced an obvious change. In early time, she was famous for her subtle and pathetic love poems,and she won a reputation for "Russia’s Sappho"; t After experiencing a tough life and so many national disasters such as the October Revolution, the Great Purge, Great Patriotic War, Akhmatova linked her own destiny with the fate of the motherland and its people tightly by writing poems, showing the noble patriotism and national sentiment; when creating "A Poem Without Hero", she retrospected and pondered the history with the vision of a philosopher,thinking about the process of Russian history and culture. With the development of the topics at all stages, her writing style and artistic techniques also correspondingly changed. This article focuses on the development and changes of topics and styles of Akhmatova’s poems in all periods, as well as the reasons for the change trying to sort out the context of the entire creative career of the poet and find a variety of factors that affect her writing.Preface summarizes the literature about the research.Chapter One is about the development and sublimation of Akhmatova’s theme including love in her early poems and patriotism, religious humanity at her later stage.It also shows the process of poet’s emotion.Chapter Two analyzes the changes in Akhmatova’s poetry creation,especially the artistic features of the early lyric poems and the structure,the system and the characteristics of’Requiem" and "A Poem Without Hero".Chapter Three analyzes the reasons for the change of her creation’s themes and styles by researching the impact of personal and historical destiny, the role of the Silver Age modernist poetic theory and Pushkin, trying to give elaboration form three aspects.A number of scholars in our country or any others do the research about Akhmatova’s poems, especially about her early lyric poetry and the "Requiem" and "A Poem Without Hero". This paper looks at the entire creative career of Akhmatova and theme and style of her poems with a version of development and a logical system.It also focus on the process of its change and development and explore the root of these changes.All these features make this paper creative and impressed.
