Object:We observe and analyze the SGD’s clinical effect on patients with acute lumbar sprain by setting a random control group and use the result to evaluate its ability to invigorate the circulation of qi and blood and the clinical safety. It also will provide clinical data for the further application that SGD eases the pain of orthopaedic disease caused by "qi stagnation and blood stasis".Methods:Using the random number table method, we randomly divided72outpatients with acute lumbar sprain included in the inclusion criteria into treatment group and control group, each group has36patients. The treatment group is treated with SGD’s granules (Shaoyao30g,Gancao15g)by oral,2times a day, with warm water. Control group’s patients are treated with "compound chlorzoxazone tablets"(one tablet with chlorzoxazone0.125g, acetaminophen0.15g) by oral, two piece at a time, three times a day. The treatment cycle of both groups is2weeks, too. If the symptoms disappear in treatment cycle, stop treatment and end the course of treatment immediately. Give a telephone follow-up visit when2weeks after the treatment cycle. There are five time-points(before treatment,3day after treatment,1week after treatment,2weeks after treatment and the telephone follow-up visit) to collect data in total. Using VAS, the waist activity evaluation, ODI dysfunction score and TCM score evaluates the effect. All data is analyzed by IBM SPSS STATISTICS20.0’s statistical package. Test data is said with mean±standard deviation, P<0.05is considered to have significant statistical significance. Count data use chi-square test, measurement data use t-test or nonparametric test. Results:There are63patients who in the standard in this experiment,30cases in treatment group(Group A),and33cases in control group(Group B). There are3cases in Group B falling off when treating. Actually each group has30cases who get all treatment and a telephone follow-up. The sex, age, the VAS score, waist activity disturbance score, lumbar ODI score, and TCM score before treatment have no difference between two groups in statistical significance (P>0.05).2cases falling off control group have appear harmful response.1. After the treatment, Group A’s cured patients are more than Group B’s,and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05), Group A’s treatment days are less than Group B’s to be recovery, and the difference is statistically significant (P<0.01);Group A’s excellent and good rate is higher than Group B’s, ang there is no statistically significant difference (P>0.05)2. Group A’s VAS scores are lower, but the score recovery rate is higher than Group B’s at all time points. The score and the score recovery rate are not statistically significant difference bteween two groups on3days (P>0.05).The VAS score and the score recovery rate’s difference was statistically significant on the7day and the14day between the two groups (P<0.05).the VAS scores between the two groups are no statistical significance when follow-up (P>0.05).3. Group A’s waist activity disturbance score were lower, but the score recovery rate is higher than Group B’s at all time points. Two groups’scores and score recovery rates on the7days and the14days have statistical significance (P<0.05).4. Group A’s ODI scores are lower, but the score recovery rate is higher than Group B’s at all time points. The score and the score recovery rate are not statistically significant difference bteween two groups on the3day (P>0.05).The ODI score and the score recovery rate’s difference was statistically significant on the7day and the14day between the two groups (P<0.05).the ODI scores between the two groups are no statistical significance when follow-up (P>0.05).5. Group A’s TCM score were lower, but the score recovery rate is higher than Group B’s at all time points. Two groups’scores and score recovery rates on the7days (P<0.05).Conclusion:SGD has significant effect on acute lumbar sprain. It can be faster and more effective to relieve pain, improve the waist’s activity, reduce the waist’s dysfunction and alleviate the TCM symptoms than control group’s drug.
