Objective:Summarize the cl inical experience of Professor Xu Rongqian on treating Tourette syndrome, and explore the dialectical thinking and drug laws, providing valuable reference for the clinical treatment of Tourette syndrome.Methods:Use the clinical cases observation table to collect newly diagnosed information of56Tourette syndrome patients of Professor Xu Rongqian’s special consultation. And use the descriptive statistical method to sort the frequency of patients’symptoms, signs, syndrome and commonly used drugs. And use the statistical software SPSS18to chi-square test the relevance of main symptoms and medication, then discuss the result.Results:In56patients, there are46male cases,10female cases. Most patients are between5to7years old. Timid and impatient are the obvious characters of patients.73.21%patients like watching TV or surfing internet. Nearly half of patients prefer to eat Expanded Food.32.14%patients used to destroy household appliances,26.78%patients with narrow interests. Patients parents are strict with them. Scare is the main inducing factor, followed by maltreatment and reproach. Motor tics are usually the first symptom, especially head and facial tics. Symptoms become worse when patients are excited, stressful or catch cold. The frequency of symptoms from high to low is sleep disorder, sweating in night, upset, hands and heart heat, loss of appetite, learning difficulties, colds more often, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, sweating after doing exercise, dry stool, enuresis, thin and dry stool, abdominal distention, weak, poor self-control hyperactivity. And in the case of signs, patients are characterized by pale green face, red tongue, thick tongue fur, and string slippery pulse. Among the five organs, liver dysfunction is the main cause, may involve the heart, spleen, lung, kidney. The top20of commonly used drugs is followed by poria, licorice, uncaria, bran fried citrus aurantium, bamboo shavings, orange peel, white peony root, calcined oyster, pinellia, black snake/acutobin, centipede, scorpion, spina date seed, berberine, raw/calcined magnet, keel, baical skullcap root, radix bupleuri, nux prinsepiae, pearl. The frequency of spina date seed, chinese goldthread, cape jasmine fruit, fermented soybean used in syndrome of disorder of liver and heart is much higher than in syndrome of non-disorder of liver and heart, The frequency of largehead atractylodes rh, root of divaricate saposhnikovia, fried three buds, rhizoma gastrodiae used in syndrome of disorder of liver and spleen is much higher than in syndrome of non-disorder of liver and spleen. The frequency of fried silkworm, periostracum cicada, skullcap, Radix, mulberry,wild chrysanthemumused in syndrome of disorder of liver and lung is much higher than in syndrome of non-disorder of liver and lung. The frequency of polygala, vitex, ligusticum, treating diabetes, sang cuttlebone, dendrobium, panax in syndrome of disorder of liver and kidney is much higher than in syndrome of non-disorder of liver and kidney.Conclusion:The study confirmed the basic viewpoints of Professor Xu Rongqian for Tourette syndrome-the disorder of gallbladder is the main cause of TS, and can spread to internal organs. Tourette syndrome is a psychosomatic disease, its incidence is closely related to frightened, many patients with timid, brash characteristics. So it is not very proper to just use some medication aimed for behavior. It should be treated through psychological aspects. Commonly used drugs is the same to the describe in Results.
