Tinea is a dermatitis which is contagious and caused by fungus. According to the survey, the incidence of tinea is really high, and it is vulnerable to repeated. So that would cause great effect on the health and even the quality of life. Western medicine treatment of tinea is almost antifungal drugs. Drugs which are for oral administrationare are expensive, and usually have some bad effects. The drugs for external use are poor in permeability. Chinese medicine is historic that which can treat tinea, and it develops rapidly year by year. The methods are varied, the effects are small, the recurrence rate is low, the advantages of those are obviously.This paper uses the method of treatment as the entry point, then summary the cause and treatment of tinea and and explore those. Looking for the safety treatment which is also effective. This article conclude two mainly parts:literature review and clinical research.Three papers constitute the Literature Review, they are comprehensive and systematic discussion which based on a large collection and analysis of Chinese and Western medicine that relevant to tinea.The first article is about the progress of tinea in Chinese medical research, including the origin of the name, the investigate of the etiology and the pathogenesis, the treatment methods of tinea in ancient literature; the summary of cognition and treatments of tinea from1980s to the present. The second article is viewed on the advances in modern medicine. Including epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, sorts of antifungal agents and the summary of major treatment. The third article is evaluation of tinea in current situation. Summarize the representative methods for determining the efficacy based on the reported in clinical efficacy in the treatment of tinea. In order to establish a comprehensive, systematic and highly credible method to evaluate the efficacy.The clinical research is based on observing the efficacy of using vinegar soak to treat tinea.To verify vinegar soak is efficacy, to certify its safety, to rich the treatment of traditional Chinese medicinal that could cure superficial fungal disease., to provide the basis for the expanding of traditional Chinese medicines to treat tinea. Methods:there are45cases, and we mark them into two groups stochasticly,23patients in the treatment group, using vinegar soak,22cases in the other group which use the Westernmedicine-Terbinafine hydrochloride externally.4weeks later, observe the two groups and record the clinical and mycological efficacy, then follow up for two months. The results:The total efficiency of the treatment group is81.8%, clearance rate of mycology is69.6%. The overall efficiency of the control group is59.1%, clearance rate of mycology is50.0%. The conclusions:Clinical studies have shown that the differences of efficient and the clearance rate of fungus has no statistically significant using vinegar soak and the Terbinafine hydrochloride. They both could relieve clinical itching, pain and other discomforts rapidly, among these the most obvious improvement is keratosis, itching, scaling symptoms.
