Objective:To compare the therapeutic effects of the five macromolecule splints fracture external fixation device and tradition four willow splints to treat the fracture of proximal humeral; To discuss and search the methods of improving the therapeutic effects of using splints to treat the fracture of proximal humeral.Methods:60cases of proximal humeral fracture according with the inclusion criteria in Wangjing Hospital Of CACMS from January2012to December2013, of which30cases treated with the five macromolecule splints fracture external fixation device, other30cases treated with tradition four willow splints, grouped into the test group and the control group according to the treatment. A evaluation and contrast on their pain, range of movements of the shoulder joint, muscle strength, motive ability of daily life, local shape, anatomical position and time of fracture clinical healing.Results:After6weeks’treatment, two group’s average scores of their pain was (29.5±2.01) and (27.5±3.66) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average scores of their range of movements of the shoulder joint was (20.2±0.41) and(19.7±0.86) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average scores of their muscle strength was (4.73±0.45)and(4.36±0.49) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average scores of their motive ability of daily life was (29.8±1.20) and (29.2±0.86) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average scores of their local shape was (4.93±0.37) and (4.53±0.86) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average scores of their anatomical position was (9.13±1.008) and (8.40±1.522) relatively, indicating that he test group got better effects (P<0.05); two group’s average time of fracture clinical healing was (38.13±3.569) days and (39.93±2.752) days relatively, indicating that he test group need shorter time for fracture clinical healing (P<0.05)Conclusion:For relieving the pain, recovering movements of the shoulder joint and muscle strenth, recovering motive ability of daily life, easing abnormal local shape, recovering physiological anatomical position and shorten the time of fracture clinical healing, the five macromolecule splints fracture external fixation device was better than tradition four willow splints. The five macromolecule splints fracture external fixation device solves the difficult problem of tradition four willow splints that anterior, lateral and posterior splints are easily moved and upper part is open because of the lack of centripetal force, therefore the clinical effects are improved. The five macromolecule splints fracture external fixation device is an ideal external fixation device to treat proximal humeral fracture with assured effects and worth promoting clinically.
