ObjectiveThrough the observation of the treatment of shuganqingrefa in Graves disease, summarize experience about traditional Chinese medicinein the treatment of Graves disease, to lay the foundation for the further studyof Chinese medicine treatment of Graves disease.MethodThis is a prospective randomized study.60cases of hyperthyroidism were randomly divided into2experimental group and the control group,32cases in each group. The patients in thecontrol group were treated with methimazole(MMI), propranolol, leucocyte-stimulating agents and hepatoprotective. The patients in the experimental group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine decoction in the basis of the control group. The treatment course is4weeks. We observed the patients’clinical symptoms, thyroid function, liver function and the numeration of leukocyte.Results①General information:The two groups showed no significant difference (P>0.05) in age, sex, and the course of disease.②Symptom score:The two groups before treatment showed no significant difference (P>0.05); The two groups were compared before and after treatment, and the result showed a significant difference (P<0.01); The two groups aftertreatment showed a significant difference (P<0.01).③The heart rate:The two groups before treatment showed no significantdifference (P>0.05); The two groups were compared before and after treatment, the result showed a significant difference (P<0.01); The two groups aftertreatment had no significant difference (P>0.05).④Weight:The two groups before treatment showed no significantdifference (P>0.05); The two groups were compared before and after treatment, the result showed no significant difference (P>0.05); The two groups aftertreatment had no significant difference (P>0.05).⑤The thyroid hormone:TT3:The two groups before treatment showed no significantdifference (P>0.05); The two groups were compared before and after treatmentthe result showed a significant difference (P<0.05); The two groups aftertreatment had no significant difference (P>0.05). FT3, TT4, FT4were the same as TT3. TSH:The two groups before treatment showed no significantdifference (P>0.05); The two groups were compared before and after treatment, the result showed no significant difference (P>0.05); The two groups aftertreatment had no significant difference (P>0.05).⑥The total efficiency:The total efficiency of the experimental group (87.1%) was higher than that of the control group (63.3%). The total efficiency of the two groups showed a significant difference (P<0.05).⑦he incidence of leucopenia and liver damage:The incidence of leucopenia of the two groups showed no significantdifference (P>0.05); The incidence of liver damage of the two groups showed no significantdifference (P>0.05).ConclusionShuganqingrefacombined with MMI is more effective than onlyMMI in improving clinical symptoms, while they have no significant difference in slowing the heart rate or adjusting the thyroid hormone. The incidence of leucopenia and liver damage of the two groups are similar.
